I've studied Korean history for approximately 3/4 years now and to have stumbled upon this book by accident and buying it blindly has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. To try to describe this book to someone is impossible. It's far too great and the history far too deep and intricate that I just have to recommend you to read the book, rather than read my opinion of it. You can't go wrong with this book. It's absolutely astounding and I'm so glad I read it! Can't wait for the follow up book by Mr. Andrews. Thank you for the incredible story and all the feels while reading it, it couldn't have been easy. And of course to all the women it was inspired by, thank you for your never ending strength and courage in fighting this abomination. For continuing to protest and letting your voices be heard. Will make my trip to Korea so much more impactful than it already is.

Glimpse through history. Cannot imagine or cannot bare the pain.It is painful to read. It is a brutal crime what happened to these girls during the war, during the Japanese occupation in Korea. All we say during the war, women and kids are the one who suffer the most,But this isn't just any war crime. It is an ORGANISED crime by Japanese official.Shame Japanese turn a blind eyes on those crime they committed during the war.Not only turning off but covering it up by saying they were volunteered or they were the hookers who did for money.I heard about this before, however until I read this book, I didn't have a clue how it was. But now I somehow feel the pain and humiliation.Very realistic and faithful description. The world know what German did during the WWII but not many know what Japanese did.The world has to know the brutality of Japanese.

UNBEDINGT LESENSWERT!!

An interesting read about a part of history unkown to many people. Well written and easy to follow. This was a beautiful and tragic book at the same time and I would without a doubt recommend it to someone else.
