*Original review on Goodreads & My Blog*I love these books and characters so much! This world filled with humans, aliens, and other worldly beings is awesome! This book that had the two in one was just as good as the first two books in the series. I got to meet some new people. Things evolved. People were killed (sad). We find out who the people were that were spies. We got introduced to some new people/aliens. There were some really sweet moments but that ending. I'm worried for the next book! We shall see!Happy Reading!Mel ♥

OPAL REVIEW:The ante has really been upped in Opal, and the action is fast paced and super-intense. It's great to finally see Daemon and Katy together, but all those interruptions when they try to hook up?!! Aahh, finger-nail biting stuff. I've said it before and I'll say it again - JLA writes romantic suspense like no other, incredible,agonizing,edge-of-the-seat stuff. We get to meet Dawson in Opal and he's a changed man; broken and a shadow of his former self. He's devastated that Bethany is still in the evil clutches of the DOD, and he wants to lead an immediate charge, but Daemon and Katy persuade him to stay his hand. Tad bit unbelievable, because you just know if the tables were reversed, and it was Katy who was lost to Daemon that hell on earth wouldn't stop him from going after her. I would've liked to have understood Dawson a little more, but we really only catch glimpses of him.Dee and Katy's friendship is challenged beyond all limits in Opal and it's heartbreaking, though completely believable.Daemon is still a snarky, jerk at times but he's so romantic and so protective of Katy, that you just can't help loving him. I want me some Daemon Black please. That cliff-hangar ending. OMG. I was just grateful that I'd waited till now to read this series so I could delve straight in. Otherwise I would literally have been tearing my hair out.In summary, another gripping read from the writing powerhouse that is Jennifer L. Armentrout. 5 StarsORIGIN REVIEW:Holy alien babies, this book is explosive! The lengths the DOD will go to are finally revealed in Origin, and it all starts to make sense. We learn more about Luc, and Blake's true nature is out in the open. JLA, you're right - Karma is a tool.Daemon will burn the world down to get Katy back and don't we just know it. Always thinking of others, always the protector, he goes charging into the thick of it to save Katy. Daring, brave, stupid, it's complete Daemon as we've come to know and love him.Archer reminds me a little of Leon/Apollo from the Covenent Series, but I adored him and look forward to seeing how his character develops.Vegas, oh wow, Vegas tears the whole world apart in so many different ways. I'm not going to spoil it, but those scenes are insane.I was heart-broken at the ending, and praying all wasn't as it seemed.I tore through this book in hours, unable to put it down. I know I've been fan-girling all over the place about Jennifer L. Armentrout, but I seriously love her writing style and I'm in awe of her creative genius. I hope some movie production company is optioning her work, as both the Covenent and Lux series would make epic movies and I'd die to see them on the big screen.Superb. Highly Recommended. 5 Stars

Opal and Origin continue the Saga of Katy and Daemon along with their friends. It's a fight for survival and a testament of love. What would you do to make sure the one you love is safe from any imminent threat? Could you choose between keeping your family safe or saving the one you love? The Luxens are an alien race living among humans on Earth. The government will allow them to live freely if they keep their identity a secret. But what happens if any of them falls in love with a human? Well, things tend to get complicated, especially if a Luxen uses their powers to save a human. There are a group of people who will stop at nothing to gain that power and Katy,Daemon, and their friends have been caught in the middle of the game of greed and power. Now it's a race against time to make sure everyone gets out alive.

I've already read these books to be honest; however, I didn't have a physical copy. So I bought them, I'm glad that the books have been paired together as Obsidian & Onyx and Opal & Orgin. Totally great and amazing books c:Honestly the first book reminded me a lot of Twilight, but the rest of this series doesn't remind me of Twilight in the slightest, and it was such a great read. I loved the characters. Dee creeped me out in the first book though tbh. She was weird. The cover is soooo beautiful!!! It literally sparkles, and it showed up in great condition c:I'll leave my review on the Obsidian and Onyx book too c:

Love this series. I got the recommendation from someone if you were a fan of Roswell, (TV show) I would like this. Well, it took me awhile to try it I wish I had started to read them sooner. AMAZING... I am 60 yrs old so not a teen, but these books are teen based I love them. Be sure to read the first two books first or you may be a little lost. Obsidian,is the first book. I guarantee you will love them. They are so good with sharing with children and/or grandchildren if they are from tweens and up. Not for any younger. I can't tell you why, it would give away the plot. Enjoy.
