Turtle (Shake & Play Bath Books) Reviews
Very cute, holds up to a strong toddler and he enjoys it at bath time. We don't read in the bath but he looks at the pictures, dunks it and plays with it. I've put this is in the dish washer to clean it holds up fine. One thing I learnt the hard way is don't give them books in the bath when they're too young. They don't recognize the difference between bath books and regular books. LO sent a few our regular books for a 'bath' because he didn't understand why some books could come with you to the shower and the others can't.
Great book for the tub! However after i got done washing the baby and looked to take the book away to start getting him out of the tub i noticed his face and arms all red and scratched. The plastic on the corners of the book are sharp! Nothing major as far as cuts, but the poor baby .... well he didnt look happy.
We had a different turtle book that fell apart (not this one) and when I found it again on amazon it was SO expensive. I went with this one as I figured my daughter wouldn't know the difference...since she is a baby and will chew anything. Cuter than a dog bone and is lots of fun for her! Also, the seams seem very secure and the edges aren't sharp and that is a big plus!
Okay, this is certainly not the most complex of books, but we love it just for that reason. Our son is now 16-months old and we have had this (and the Duck Shake & Play book) in the tub with him for the past couple months. We like that there are no words, just pictures, and that we can do simple questions and simple commands with the book (e.g. Where is the turtle?). The price and right and I say the more books in the house, the better! Even in the bath!
Great birthday gift for a small child to play in the water.
Bought it for my 8 months old nephew and she loves it!
Haven't given the toy, yet, but I think he'll enjoy it!
Cute little book. The edges are a little sharp though.
